OUR MISSION
We have been advised by
Shaykh Ali Al-Wasifi.
A student of his spoke with him regarding our situation and he recommended: to open a musalla to differentiate ourselves from those of deviant sects, to make our stance clear to show that we oppose them and to make it known that we do not tolerate or accept their call.
(This was a verbal conversation and his words are not verbatim. This is a summary of the conversation.)
_________
On December 25th, 2021 we approached
Shaykh Hassan As-Somali
We approached him after Fajr prayer and requested for a meeting to discuss the musalla that the Salafis in Fort Wayne are seeking to open. Before continuing the conversation he asked us "why open a musalla and not a masjid?" After furthering the conversation with shaykh Hassan and receiving beneficial advice from him, we have come to conclusion that we will seek to open a masjid In Sha Allah. We thank Allah and ask him to reward the sheikh for that beneficial and much needed seating and may Allah bless this noble cause.
Ameen.
__________
With that being said, we believe that it would be in the best interest of the community to establish this masjid to have a place for worship and studying according to the Quran and sunnah with the understanding of the righteous pious predecessors. This is the way of the salaf and we will follow them. This is our mission.
Imām al-Barbahārī (rahimahullāh, died 329 AH) stated: “Know that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “My ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamā’ah.” It was said, “And who are they, O Allah’s Messenger?” He (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today.”

‘The differentiation of ahl-bidʿah and ahl al-sunnah is something that the ‘ulamāʾ have done since the very beginning of time. For when you see them, writing books such as uṣūlus-sunnah of Imām Aḥmad, the intention behind authoring these books is to clarify the ʿaqīdah of ahl al-sunnah wal-jamāʿah.
